It's hard being strong when your husband doesn't support you sometimes

Finding strength during a cancer journey can feel especially challenging when the support at home isn't what's needed. Many people in similar situations have found comfort in building a network of support through cancer communities, trusted friends, counselors, or support groups who truly understand what this experience is like. What ways have helped you find moments of strength, and what kind of support feels most meaningful to you right now?

We are here for you Monique. Maybe he is trying to process your diagnosis and needs a little more time. If that is not the case please reach out to us because we are all going through a cancer journey and support each other here.

I understand, my family doesn’t understand how serious this is and doesn’t support me. But I turn to God that’s the only thing that is keeping me going everyday 🥰

I've been on both sides for myself and loved ones, care giver and care receiver and in a way I think being a care giver is equally hard. As a care giver, we're not sure what to do to comfort our loved ones and end up doing the "wrong" thing. Men, especially have a hard time verbalizing feelings at the best of times let alone when they're scared. I recall during my chemo treatment my husband made me a dinner I'd always enjoyed pre BC - short ribs with sauerkraut! At this point, I couldn't tolerate ANYTHING aromatic! I burst into tears, "how could you be so thoughtless?!" Poor guy, he was just trying to lift my spirits. Is it any wonder he was gun shy after that! Communication is important, let him know how you're feeling. Holding you up in prayer.
