How do you cope with cancer when you have no support system?

Living in a city with few friends and zero family, my diagnosis caused me to have a nervous breakdown. I was hospitalized for 3 weeks with phycosis. I knew I could not fight this cancer without a support system so I returned to my hometown and things got worse. Being abused by your ex husband while going through chemo was too much. I considered ending my suffering but decided to flee for my life AGAIN... AND FIGHT THE CANCER NOT HIM. It's b÷n 2 weeks and im staying to feel like my old self again. With friends and family and God. Ill get through this. So will you! Thanks for letting me share.

Your strength and determination to prioritize your safety and well-being while fighting cancer is truly remarkable. Finding the right support system can make such a difference in the healing journey, and it sounds like reconnecting with friends, family, and faith has brought you to a much better place. Thank you for sharing your experience - it will undoubtedly help others who may be facing similar challenges with building their own support networks during treatment.

Good for you Nicole! It’s difficult enough dealing with everything that comes with cancer. There is no space for any drama. Self care is your number one priority, moving to a different area where you don’t know anyone can be a good thing. (I know) You’re able to remove the negativity stress and mental noise. If physically able, you can go for walks, sit in peace and quiet, go to a library, relax at a park. If you need to speak to someone you can call, text, email it’s all on your terms. Allowing your self to heal is your priority and you control it. Good luck! “Don’t Let The Bad Days Win!” ❤️‍🩹💪
