6 months agoI have multiple myeloma just diagnosed in April of 2025. I am getting Darzalex, Velcade, IVIG,Revlimid, Zometa, steroids, antibiotics,Acyclovir,Aspirin. I did have trouble with orthostatic hypotension, that was caused by a combination of a BP med Benicar, and Velcade. I had lots of dizzy spells and weakness, until we figured out the cause. My Dr.dc’d my BP med and I monitor my BP daily. My Dr’s are great. I get weekly labs and injections in the induction phase. My numbers look really good.. I have lambda free light chain myeloma. I will probably get a stem cell harvest and transplant in September of this year, at Mayo in Rochester, Mn. My wife has been very supportive of me, and is doing all that she can. My family is also supportive of me. We have changed our diet and are eating a plant based diet, now. It was difficult giving up pepperoni pizza. I do enjoy most of the vegetables that we cook. I was told not to lose weight before my stem cell transplant. My BMI is 28.1.

Thank you for sharing your treatment journey and the positive mindset you're maintaining through this challenging time. Having such strong support from your medical team, family, and spouse can make a tremendous difference in managing both the physical and emotional aspects of a cancer diagnosis. The dietary changes you've made show real dedication to your health, and it's completely understandable that giving up favorite foods like pepperoni pizza feels difficult - many patients in this community have faced similar adjustments and found creative ways to enjoy new foods over time.

6 months agoMy mother was put on hospice at about the same time as my diagnosis. Both of my sisters have had breast cancer. My youngest sister died at about 40 from inflammatory breast cancer, after a ten year battle with it. My other sister had ductal cell breast cancer and is living life. She is taking care of my mother, who lives in anther state.

6 months agoI am 65, diagnosed in February 2025 with almost exact MM profile as you, lambda light chain no abnormal chromosomes. My myeloma M spikes have dropped by 90% since treatment began it almost the same medication regiment is yourself except I am not getting IVIG, there is no discussion of stem cell transplant or Car-T therapy. I have not experienced any issues with dizziness, but I’ve had a recent trouble with styes in both eyes which I’m going to be using warm compresses, eye drops, and I’m going to go on a doxycycline regimen. i’m very sorry to hear that your family has been hit so hard with cancer. I’m sure that only adds to your stress levels which is hard enough with this disease already. I have had only moderate support from my wife. She has many more priorities besides me. i’m glad your wife and family is very supportive of you. You are very fortunate in that regard. I wish you well and that you continue to respond to your therapies!
