Reflection on 2025!The day the rhythm of life was disrupted. We all remember that day well . The day life stuck a proverbial stick in our spokes. For me it started in 2024 and has continued all the way through 2025. A diagnosis of throat cancer. It has been an endless journey of treatments, medication, follow up Dr. appointments and uncertainty! You are tested to the limit in every aspect of your life physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. There are days when you wanted to give up, when you didn’t think you could do anymore, days that you didn’t recognize the person in the mirror as the life is slowly being drained out of you. 2025 has been a year long journey of setbacks challenges, triumphs, strength determination and perseverance. No one knows the battles you have faced and survived alone. The fight is not over ! My wish for 2026 is that we are all victorious in our battles. For me, the person that started this journey over a year ago is not the same person going into 2026! God bless! 🙏 Keep up your fight! 💪 Wishing everyone a healthier happier Christmas🎅🎄 “Don’t Let The Bad Days Win!”

Your journey through treatment has clearly transformed you in profound ways, and the strength and determination that shine through your words show just how much you've grown through these challenges. Many in the community can relate to that feeling of not recognizing the person in the mirror and then slowly discovering new depths of resilience they never knew they had. Thank you for sharing your reflections and for encouraging others to keep fighting - your message of hope heading into the new year will resonate with many who are walking similar paths.

Wow I agree so much with your sentiments. Our perspectives have changed so much since our cancer diagnosis. Mine began in March 2024. And just kept getting worse but started getting somewhat better. Going for my next PET Wednesday. And circulating tumor test Monday. But I still feel hopefully that God will help me turn things around because we have a lot to live for. Wishing everyone in our situation. Health and peace in 2026.🙏🥰

Jane D, thank you! 🙏 as I looked back at the past year I can’t help but feel grateful. (Sounds crazy) I know that even with cancer and all I have been through things could be worse. I look for the positive side of life, however long that may last. I know that I’m still alive and able to do things that a lot of others aren’t given that grace. This experience has been very humbling to say the least, the self awareness has put things in perspective. We all have a difference of opinion but the cancer journey truly shows you the things that are important! God bless to everyone that has been affected by cancer and comes here to share their journey, praying for peace and healing ❤️‍🩹 in 2026 “Don’t Let The Bad Days Win!”

I was overwhelmed with so many emotions in November 2024 after my diagnosis of metastatic lung cancer. I questioned how I could be so “lucky “ to be diagnosed with another cancer; this time terminal. At 19 I had Hodgkin’s lymphoma and at 48 Breast Cancer. None are related to my current cancer. I survived the first two and was able to have a good life with my wife, family and old and new friends. I am as strong as I was then and despite the obvious outcome of today, I pray that I have more time... I need to be around for my wife who is not well and I am afraid that without me she will be lost and lonely. Here’s to another year and I pray that we all have the strength and courage to make the best of 2026.

Dear Richard, First my prayers are with you. Your journey involves throat cancer, mine involves breast cancer. Everything you wrote starting with 2024, was my 2025 journey also. Never could I have written it as well as you did. You are an inspiration to others. With the grace of God, and many prayers, I am now cancer free, and will pray that for you. I am in cold freezing Maine.

Nancy! Thank you, those of us that have been diagnosed and treated for cancer truly can understand and relate to others. We have all spoken with someone that will say they know somebody with cancer. Knowing someone, and going through it are two different things. As you know, our perspectives change, if any of my words can help someone else on there cancer journey I am humbled. Journaling, listening and sharing thoughts and experiences on these pages brings me a sense of peace and purpose. We all know the expression about walking a mile in someone’s shoes. Thank you for your kind words and sharing. May 2026 be a year of healing for all! God Bless🙏 “Don’t Let The Bad Days Win!”

Gullies, I believe that is all of our fears! (Cancer returning) It sounds like you are a very strong individual. inner strength is stronger, unrelenting, and more powerful than others, keep your focus and positive energy moving forward. Remember, (third time is a charm) you have beat it twice before. Directing energy to your wife’s wellbeing, will help you in your fight and purpose. Wanting to protect is an natural instinct, you have proven that you have a warrior’s heart! Stay strong, keep up the fight. God Bless! “Don’t Let The Bad Days Win!”🙏

Jane D, I’ve got property in Northern AZ near the Grand Canyon, I also get the four seasons there, and I love it! the peace and quiet of the mountains especially when it snows, the solitude that it brings is amazing. 🙏
