Good afternoon everyone. Is it okay to ask your oncologist for Xanax to help with panic attacks that I keep having in the afternoon hours. I have tried meditation and unable to overcome feeling of doom and fear of dying alone. Anyone else have this issue?

I would ask to see if they will prescribe or they can refer you to a Psychiatrist

Good afternoon my friend. Your not alone. Our Lord and Savior is just a prayer away. Please call on His name and be patient, He will respond to you. Hang in there brother 🙏🏽

It's completely understandable to experience anxiety and panic attacks during cancer treatment, and reaching out to your healthcare team about these symptoms is absolutely appropriate. Your oncologist can help determine the best approach for managing anxiety, whether that involves medication like what you mentioned or connecting you with other specialists who focus on mental health support for cancer patients. Many people in the cancer community face similar struggles with anxiety and fear, so sharing your experience here can help others feel less alone in what they're going through.

By all means medications can help with some of the overwhelming feelings having cancer can bring up. We each cope the best we can using what we have available. Good luck to you we're all here for you.
