2 months agoJust diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Looking at clinical trials but understand there will be no cure. It’s just how long can they keep me alive. Was planning on kicking my retirement in full gear next year when I start taking my social security at 70. This would be easier if I didn’t have kids. So sad to know I’ll be leaving the in a few years at best. And won’t get enough time with new grandson. Will he remember me?

This diagnosis brings overwhelming emotions and fears about the future, which is completely natural when facing such uncertainty. Many in this community have found that focusing on creating meaningful moments and connections with loved ones - like recording videos, writing letters, or simply being present - can help make the most of the precious time available. The impact someone has on a grandchild's life isn't measured only in years but in the love and memories created, no matter how brief.

2 months agoPlease get many opinions and read reliable sites on the internet, such as John Hopkins. I’m amazed at some poor quality healthcare out there. I don’t know where you live but the University type hospitals are up to date on everything, in my opinion. I’m in California, Stanford is great. I don’t have pancreatic cancer. That’s a tough one, hang in there. Ask God for the Strength. You’re going to beat this for the kids!

2 months agoWhen I was first diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer with metastasis to the liver, they thought I would live six months to a year 2 1/2 years later the nodules on my liver are not identified in the PET scan, and my pancreatic tumor remains the same I say keep on fighting. You never know how long you’ll have. That’s up to God and no one else.
