23 days agoI have completed 4 rounds of chemo for metastatic testicular. One major side effect has been depression. I feel like all the niceties of life are gone. I feel like I lost a child & never have had children. I have many friends and family members who support my journey. Feel like I don't have it. Anyone having a similar experience?

23 days agoChemotherapy can indeed affect mood and emotional well-being, and the feelings described are experienced by many people going through cancer treatment. The combination of physical stress from treatment and the emotional impact of facing a serious diagnosis can create profound feelings of loss and sadness that are completely valid. Consider discussing these symptoms with your healthcare team, as there are effective ways to address depression during cancer treatment, and connecting with others in this community who may share similar experiences can provide meaningful support.

22 days agoDear Michael S: YES! I have very similar experience with continuous and deepening depression and the nearly complete loss of quality of life. I’m now 3 years post diagnosis of high risk prostate cancer and 2 years post treatment with radiation and hormone deprivation. Of 54 negative side effects I have 23–increasing and worsening. I’ve accumulated 7 specialist doctors and 9 prescriptions, with none having any perceptible positive effects—unless they’ve kept something from being even worse. My mission now is to set up my wife with complete financial security and hope something kills me sooner than the maximum 7 years I’ve supposedly got left—so she can get her own life back without constant attention to me. I say all of this in hopes you can feel relatively better off. If you keep reading O4M you’ll quickly realize that many are worse off than I am. And that’s as optimistic as I can be in present circumstances.

22 days agoMichael and Dave Please consider giving everything to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.. Relish every minute you have with your family and friends and trust in Jesus completely.. We’re all going to go someday if not from this disease I guarantee you it will happen sooner or later.. Our only hope is that we will by the grace of God enter into eternal peace with Him.. I pray you both have peace and love for each and every day of whatever time we have left. MAKE your peace with Our Lord and let him continue to bless you both I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.. Thomas O

7 days agoDear Judy S, The one you matter to the most is Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And believe it or not You matter very much to me as well as does everyone on O4M.. I don’t care what religion you are all I can tell you is that you’re a child of Our Lord and Savior. As hard as it may seem you have to take the first step and that means getting down on your knees and giving it all to Him. Repent for your sins and forgive yourself and those who have hurt you in the past. Ask for His forgiveness and pray for your salvation.. I guarantee He won’t let you down.. if you’d like to join me daily for prayer from the comfort of your living space I pray every morning for guidance, faith, peace, love and healing for everyone here on O4M. He already knows what you’re going through just bring yourself closer to Him. God Bless you and keep you safe and healthy in Jesus Name I Pray.. God Bless Thomas O
