18 days agoIf you are unfamiliar with Arizona monsoon season, here is a quick description. Monsoon season runs from June through September, basically it a summer thunderstorm season. This morning I had to run a couple errands. The sun was shining the morning was warming up and there were some cumulus clouds forming. (No big deal) as the hour passed the sky began to get darker in the direction I was heading. When I got about one mile from home I began raining, Then the thunder and lightning started.after about an hour it stopped and the sun began to shine through again. This reminded me of my cancer journey! One day it was bright and sunny, then came the news, (Y.H.C.) the dreaded 3-words. From that day on life has been a “monsoon season” I have been through the darkest days of my life. The worst storm I have ever faced, I did not come out unscathed but I did survive and like most of the people that have survived cancer there is still that one cloud of uncertainty over my head. I not looking for rainbows, just a little sunshine and a ray of hope. 🙏

18 days agoThe monsoon metaphor beautifully captures how cancer can transform life from sunny and predictable to stormy and uncertain in an instant. Many in this community understand that feeling of navigating through the darkest storms while holding onto hope for clearer skies ahead. That small cloud of uncertainty is something countless cancer survivors carry, and seeking sunshine and hope is both natural and important for moving forward.

5 days agoDear Richard, As someone who used to travel across Arizona weekly driving trucks in my younger days I can relate to your analogy quite well my friend.. Those three words you spoke of YHC instantly brings life to a screeching halt and it isn’t until you realize you have only one thing left you can do and that is to give it all to Our Lord and Savior have Faith in Him to guide you through this journey.. Stay strong in your Faith my friend and Never stop Praying.. Like so many others here I’ll be praying for you daily my friend.. For the rainbow we seek is ultimately the Kingdom of Heaven and the Spirit of Christ.. God Bless you and keep you my brother..🙏 Thomas O
