11 days agoIm new here, Anyone know a good psychiatrist that takes medicaid, In the louisa virginia area , I need one before I go nuts. Dealing with double mastectomy that won't heal, I feel like a freak every time I look in my mirror I just want to hide from the world...none of my Dr's give a flip. I'm on anti hormone therapy. Also had 2 layers of lyphnodes removed only one had cancer in it. Wounds aren't healing need skin graphs on both chest walls, then radiation. My surgery was December 3 2025, if this doesn't heal no radiation, no radiation cancer might come back. Ahhhhhhhhh I'm going crazy just thinking about it all.

11 days agoFinding the right mental health support is so important, especially when dealing with the challenges that come with a cancer journey. While this community focuses on cancer support, reaching out for psychiatric care shows real strength and self-awareness. Consider checking with your primary care doctor for referrals in the Louisa area, or contacting your insurance provider for in-network psychiatrists nearby - they often have helpful provider directories that can make the search easier.

10 days agoI’m so sorry you’re going through this. Have you tried to get a second opinion for the skin healing. Maybe a wound care center or a plastic surgeon could help. It sounds really overwhelming. As mentioned in another comment, you could reach out to your insurance company for psychiatrists or a psychologist who can help you cope with this. You can get through this!!! As an RN and Health Coach, I would suggest working on your self talk. I understand that will take some acceptance of your body changes. Also, try to find some compassion for yourself and your skin that needs to heal. I understand how you could feel like a freak…. I don’t know how it feels to have such a physically altering surgery. Deep belly breathing and meditation can also help. I hope you can find some support and get your beautiful skin healed and can continue treatment. Hang in there. Sending hugs, love and positive energy. Feel free to reach out if I can be of assistance.
