5 months agoHello! I am new to group and not sure how it works yet. I am recovering from Squamish. Half my soft pallet removed. Grafts from hip replaced the skin. Now suffering from extreme neorapathy from the waste down and face. Well, choices. Death or do the chemo & radiation treatments needed. I chose life! And still kind of rocking it. Kind of. The lack of feeling in my face and mouth means I look rather silly casually sticking my fingers into food and liquids to make sure safe to eat or drink. Tricky to do when sitting across from another. The waste down issue of dumbness has resulted in one broken leg and currently for additional fun a broken foot with the other foot having three broken toes. Interesting to drive to work for sure. Anyway, that is my situation. Always concerned the cancer will return. Perhaps too much information to share. Again, new to this site. However, reaching out to others to support should you want or need it. Cancer is unique to everyone! There is no one real formula. Support is the key I think. And many, including myself, have experience people backing away because Cancer is scary to all. However, those actions leaves the person with Cancer isolated. Not a good place to be in my opinion. I chose and choose life despite the obstacles presented to me from treatment to get better and the loss of many who I thought would be with me through thick or thin times. Rather interesting and heart breaking too at times. Ok. Done. If too much, let me know. Wish all well and know you can beat IT. However side effects can be beyond an interesting adventure.
