a month agoI have light chain mm and was diagnosed with 3 weeks ago. Was hospitalized for 1 month. Had anyone else have issues walking from one room to the other. Frustrated to say the least. Chemo sucks

a month agoWalking difficulties are a common challenge that many people in this community face after diagnosis and during treatment. The combination of being hospitalized for an extended period and starting treatment can definitely impact mobility and energy levels. Many others here have shared similar experiences with fatigue and movement challenges, so reaching out was a great step. Consider discussing these symptoms with your healthcare team, as they may have suggestions for physical therapy or other supportive approaches that could help.

17 days agoI have been dealing with MM for over 10 years. It changed my body (balance, weight, and stamina). The first two years I needed a walker for everything. I had multiple compression fractures up and down my spine. After my Stem Cell Transplant in 2016 it got better for me. But, I did gain a lot of weight. I was sedentary for a long time. I went to physical therapy for short times, but it didn’t last long. In 2022 I started to exercise with a trainer. He has worked with me on strength, balance, stamina. This has helped a lot. I learned that exercise is important for MM patients. You don’t have to get a trainer ( they’re expensive), but try to keep moving when can without pain. YouTub has plenty of balance exercise videos, for example.

8 days agoThe mass on my back made walking almost impossible. After the 4th radiation, i was able to start walking again.
