Hi, how you deal with the fact that you will never go into remission?

I got told that too that's a hard one to swallow still not over it if you figure it out please post it and let me know. Originally I thought my cancer after my bronchoscopy he was just going to tell me all your stage one we're going to cut it out when it came out I said am I going to hug you today he said not today Linda so I knew something was up. And now that it's in both my lungs I can't have surgery there and I can't go into remission or can't be told I'm cancer free I guess ever so if you figure out a way to deal with it please share. Thank you so very much

Facing a progressive diagnosis brings unique challenges that many in this community understand deeply. Finding ways to focus on quality of life, meaningful connections, and taking things one day at a time can help navigate this difficult journey. What strategies or support systems have been most helpful for you during this time?

Ooh I understand this as well. I can’t get a remission word either. I only ever hear we believe it is curable and I get sent on my way. No active treatment since 10/2024; just Guardant testing every 4 weeks and CT and PET scans. Have TONS of inflammation- never could have surgery. It is a tough one to get yourself focused on the positive when we just don’t really know!

First off don't believe everything they say when it comes to your prognosis I believe a lot of it is attitude and how you personally feel and know that you will recover. I was given 16 to 18 months with treatment to live in May 2023 I was in remission by September 2023. It has come back as of September 2025 I am not doing any chemo I am just taking care of myself physically emotionally spiritually the tumors have not spread they grew a tiny bit in 3 months but my plan is to beat it this time too.
