21 hours agoMy doctor is discussing next steps after my lung cancer surgery and mentioned two main options: additional surgery (re-resection) to remove any remaining cancer tissue, or drug treatments like chemotherapy or targeted therapy such as Tagrisso (osimertinib) for certain genetic mutations. The choice depends on my surgical results, tumor characteristics, and overall health. I'm trying to understand what to expect with either path and would love to hear from others who faced similar decisions. • If you had re-resection or adjuvant therapy after lung cancer surgery, what was your experience like? • What questions do you wish you had asked your doctor when making this decision?

16 hours agoBoth re-resection and adjuvant therapies like chemotherapy or targeted treatments such as osimertinib can be effective next steps after lung cancer surgery, and the decision often depends on specific tumor characteristics and individual health factors. This community has many members who have navigated similar treatment decisions, and their experiences with both surgical and medical approaches could provide valuable insights as you consider your options with your medical team.
