What's it like getting radiation or chemoradiation for lung cancer?

I have advanced lung cancer and my oncologist mentioned two main local treatment options: radiation therapy alone or chemoradiation (chemotherapy combined with radiation at the same time). The radiation uses high-energy beams to target the cancer cells in my lung, and the chemoradiation adds cancer-fighting drugs given during the same time period. My doctor said the choice between these approaches will depend on my overall health and the specific details of my cancer. I'd love to hear from others who have been through similar treatment decisions and experiences. • If you had radiation therapy or chemoradiation for lung cancer, what was your day-to-day experience like during treatment? • What helped you prepare for treatment or manage the process?

Go for it I had both lost 1 day of work. Short term side effects with chemo Fatigue nausea loss of appetite. Think of positive things only. Don't dwell on side effects. Surround yourself with phone calls, light exercise Sleep if body tells you look ahead 3 months.. Life is worth all the trials and tribulations. Don't worry about things not under your control. I had chemo and radiation on Mondays I had both Tuesday through Friday I did radiation it was rough but it was doable. I did it completely alone, so I know you can do this. My theory is I want to live so I'll do what I'm told. Why go to the doctors if you're not going to do what they say to do right? Don't make the same mistake I made in Google everything and if you do make sure you look at the dates of when they were written cuz a lot of them are so outdated they scare the crap out of you they've come a long long way with cancer I watch my mother and my brother pass away from lung cancer and I feel like I'm going to live, it was a lot of work but it's okay. You got to fight to live and I know you got fighting you cuz you wouldn't ask a question you asked if he didn't. u got this you can do this šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ¤šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ»

I have stage 3B lung cancer non-small cell and I too went through radiation and chemotherapy at the same time my day-to-day life I was very tired from the treatments and how I got through was through the support of others and the love. But I have known people that have done what I do that are in better shape and worked and I also know people that have done what I've done and we're in worse shape so it's got to be up to you.
