Diagnosis with stage 4 metastasis Non small cell lung cancer on June 7 2025. Biopsy was done, but not enough sample size was obtained for genetics testing. After Biopsy was in constant pain with extreme shortness of breath Second testing wes performed on July 10 2025 to obtain a larger sample size. It was found that my Right lung had collapsed from my first biopsy, Chest tube placed and second biopsy, again, not enough sample size for genetics testing. Will not know the final results for four more weeks. I have not started any treatment as of yet Oncologist is delaying treatment trying to see if I can get into a Clinical Study. My question is Should I wate for the for the results and possible Clinical study or start treatment ASAP ?

This is such a difficult position to be in, and the complications with the biopsies must be adding so much stress to an already overwhelming situation. The decision about when to start treatment is deeply personal and depends on many factors that only your medical team can fully evaluate. Many people in this community have faced similar timing dilemmas with treatment versus clinical trials, and connecting with others who understand this challenging choice might provide helpful perspectives as you work through this decision with your oncologist.
