Has anyone dealt with squamous cell carcinoma from oral lichen planus?

I just got diagnosed with invasive squamous cell carcinoma cause by uncontrolled oral erosive Lichen Planus anyone have this issue ? October 29th I had 2/3 of my tongue removed with 56 lymph nodes and I am going to start chemo and radiation

Can't eat or speak normally 5 years after tongue cancer radiation?

I’m 5 years post treatment for back of tongue cancer and still can’t eat and I have difficulty speaking from the radiation . Has anyone had a similar experience?

How do you keep fighting through multiple rounds of chemo for throat cancer?

I’m still going through chemo for my throat cancer . I’ve already 13 rounds of chemo since October 2024 and I’m still going through . It’s been tough but we continue the fight

What to expect with G-tube during cancer treatment?

Had 2 separate surgeries removing left and right thyroids along with their associated nodes. Removed 4 tonsils, upper and lower. Removed a part of my tongue in the back. 35 radiation treatments along with 6 chemotherapy treatments (cisplatin). Went to ER to install G-tube during layer parts of treatments. Admitted for "failure to thrive", as I lost 50 pounds in a short time. As much as I hated that, it was like a security blanket that helped me survive.

Anyone have success stories with chemoradiation for tongue cancer?

About to go through chemoradiation for an inoperable base of tongue cancer spread to lymph nodes. After reading most of the comments I’m thinking of throwing in the towel. Does anyone or even know anyone that did well with chemoradiation?

What medicine protects saliva glands during throat cancer treatment?

My husband just got diagnosed with throat cancer and had teeth pulled today and will be starting chemo and radiation in 3 weeks. Someone told us to ask about medicine that will help protect his saliva glands does anyone know what it is? Or an alternative? Amifostine is what they took but was told no longer available

How long does it take to talk and eat normally after tongue reconstruction surgery?

Hi. I had half of my tongue replace with my forearm. Talking and eating normal is not back yet. How long does this take to get back to normal?

What pain management options work for tongue cancer when medication isn't enough?

What kind of pain management helped with squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue?? My dad can’t seem to tolerate the pain anymore even though they’ve given him medication for it.
