2 months agoI was diagnosed with parotid gland cancer in 12/25 had the surgery to remove the gland and tumor followed by 6 weeks, 5 days a week of radiation, I survived all of this and now 1 year later I am loosing my teeth because of the radiation and my Sylvia gland being removed, I am very self conscious of the lack of some teeth and I am lisping, they want $60,000.00 for full arch implants and require the money upfront. I don’t want to go in depth. I was told to go overseas to get the implants for much cheaper, I am afraid to leave the country and do I trust them. Anyone else in this situation?

2 months agoRadiation treatment can indeed affect dental health, especially when salivary glands are involved, as saliva helps protect teeth from decay. Many cancer survivors face similar dental challenges after treatment, and the financial burden of dental restoration is unfortunately a common concern in the community. Consider discussing payment plans or seeking second opinions from dental schools or oncology centers that may offer more affordable options, while also consulting with your medical team about the best timing and approach for dental work after radiation.
