Hi I have ovarian cancer 3 and had 6 chemo treatments of carbo/taxol. Pet scan came back clean. Started me on Avastin after chemotherapy and have had 8 treatments (every 3weeks , they say for 2 years. Has anyone been through or going through the same treatment plan? The Avastin is causing extreme fatigue, mouth ulcers , muscle pain ,weakness, brain fog and other side effects. I would like to know if anybody’s on this and if they’re going through the same side effects of me thank you so much Lannie

I was on Avastin for awhile, same as you, every 3 weeks I also had the mouth ulcers Chewing I've chips while getting treatment helped me a lot I also did salt(1/8 teaspoon) and baking soda(1/4 teaspoon) wash 4-5 times a day and used orajel for bad pain when necessary All of that helped Didn't really have any other side effects except brain fog, which I just accept as a part of chemo

The side effects you're describing with Avastin are concerns that many people in the ovarian cancer community share, and it's important to discuss these symptoms with your oncology team to see if there are ways to manage them better. Connecting with others who have been on similar treatment plans can provide valuable support and insights, so hopefully some community members who have experience with Avastin maintenance therapy will share their experiences with you.

I'm sorry you're dealing with all of these side effects. We have cared for patients on a very similar treatment plan, and several of them experienced fatigue, mouth sores, muscle aches, and brain fog as well. First of all, congratulations on your clean PET scan—that's wonderful news. ❤️ If you ever want to explore another opinion or discuss supportive care options, I'd be happy to recommend our team and see if we can help. Wishing you continued strength and recovery.

I have extreme mouth sores from Avastin and Taxol, (I’m also on Keytruda). I just learned about a new device to help with the mouth sores. It is going to be delivered tomorrow. It’s called chemomouth. If you are interested, here is the website: https://chemomouthpiece.com/overview/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23501032929&gbraid=0AAAABCGqUVMrpX_7TsVnATmaZjrA-9CxB&gclid=CjwKCAjwyuDTBhB-EiwANCQhLOq-v0WJrjjXQRAih99WWLzCGfL7gP7rw0YvDskgsBjcpnGIne6LNRoCsNkQAvD_BwE The company representative, Bonni, is extremely helpful.

Well, I took avastin and Elahere together. Was a hard combination. I had lots of side effects. The worst was a bloody and constant runny nose
