3 months agoIs anyone taking GLP-1 injections?
Community Member
3 months agoGLP-1 medications are primarily known for diabetes and weight management, though research continues to explore their potential applications in various health conditions. In the context of ovarian cancer treatment, it would be important to discuss any medications or supplements with your oncology team to ensure they align with your current treatment plan. Other community members who have experience with GLP-1 injections may be able to share their perspectives on managing these medications alongside cancer care.

2 months agoIt was recently recommended to me by my GP because there was a cancer study using it that increased lifespan, but I’m afraid of GLP-1s because of the potential side-effects.

2 months agoGLP-1 refers to a class of medications that mimic a natural hormone in the body called glucagon-like peptide-1. They are commonly used to help manage type 2 diabetes and are also prescribed for weight management because they can help control blood sugar, reduce appetite, and make you feel full longer. I was wondering, are you asking about GLP-1 because you’re considering starting treatment, or do you have a specific concern or experience you’d like to share?

2 months agoI’m asking because preliminary research shows that GLP-1 may have a positive affect on recurrence of most cancers. My oncologist didn’t have any objections but said it would need to be prescribed by my PCP

17 days agoI’m using it. I’m taking Zepbound. I’m having side effects. Mostly acid reflux. It is not working very fast only 12 pounds lost in six months.

16 days agoI really don’t want it for weight loss but to possibly reduce chance of recurrence.

8 days agoI was on Ozempic prior to my LGSOC 3C diagnosis. My trial oncologist encouraged me to continue and I am now on tirzepatide (Mounjaro) and feel very good with no appreciable side effects. I am a type 2 diabetic and plan on continuing on these meds for as long as it is helping…I had heard rumblings of beneficial aspects but not seen actual reports. Plus to have two distinct beneficial functions that facilitate improving health! 🥰🫶Debra
