5 months agoHello, I’m Liz. My OBGYN doctor told me that the MRI shows very suspicious of cancer. Referred me to a GYN oncologist. My CA125 was negative. Has anyone else had a similar situation? I’m reading that even with negative markers you can still have cancer. I’m terrified and my oncology appt is not until 8/13

Many community members have shared similar experiences where imaging results raised concerns even with normal tumor markers. Cancer markers can vary greatly between individuals, and some people may have elevated concerns on scans while maintaining normal blood work levels. This waiting period before specialist appointments can feel overwhelming, and connecting with others who understand this uncertainty can provide comfort and perspective. Consider reaching out to the community here to share more about your experience and hear from others who have navigated similar situations.

5 months agoDepending upon type of cancer, CA125 may not be a good measure. My CA 125 was 24 and wnl, CA19-9 wnl, and ultrasound showed no anomalies before diagnostic laparoscopy and pathology showed Stage 3 C low grade serous ovarian cancer. Cancer is sometimes so silent. On the brighter side, you are doing a good thing seeing an ob/gyn, but the waiting gives you too much time to fret for sure. I was fortunate to get from diagnosis to next steps very quickly, but my PCP really pushed me to personally advocate and not just wait for a referral to process. Call and see about moving up your appointment and being available for that accommodation…it’s your mental and physical health you are protecting! God is in control, so pray for guidance! Best thoughts in your fight!!!

4 months agoIf you are being scheduled that far out, I would suggest getting an appointment with another doctor/facility. Even MD Anderson in Houston which is #1 in cancer treatment offered me appointments in July this week when I contacted them. Don’t wait! Check other facilities!!!

4 months agoAsk one of your Dr’s for a CT exam. That’s how I was diagnosed. It lights up any organ in your abdomen and lights up if there are tumors there.
