3 months agoLiving with stage 4 pancreatic cancer recurrence varies greatly from person to person, and while timelines can feel overwhelming, the BRCA genetic information discovered through testing may open up additional treatment pathways worth discussing with the oncology team. The 9-year remission period demonstrates remarkable resilience, and connecting with others in this community who understand the unique challenges of pancreatic cancer can provide valuable support and insights during this difficult time.

22 days agoHi, my name is Henry and I am now 6 1/2 years in remission from stage four pancreatic cancer. After 2 1/2 years, I had a recurrence at the surgical site which was then treated with intense radiation. I feel great, my CA 19–9 remains low however I am always waiting and fearing the other shoe to drop. I do remain hopeful that I will remain in remission for years to come. I am 79 years old. The hard part for me at this time is dealing with my insulin pump. It is a major inconvenience in my life, but it beats the alternative. When I read the obituary column, I am very pleased that my name is not there. LOL
