Is it normal for my dad to linger after we told him it's okay to go?

My father has cancer for about a year now, we recently moved him into a facility that could better care for him. I don't want him to go.. but I'm ready for him to go.. and me and mom told him it's okay to go.. but he's still lingering, and I don't know why.

It's completely normal for loved ones to linger even after receiving permission to let go - everyone's journey is different and there's no set timeline for this process. Many people in similar situations have shared that their family members seemed to need more time, perhaps to feel at peace or to say their own goodbyes in their own way. This liminal space can feel emotionally challenging, but know that you're providing him with love and support during whatever time he needs.

Just spend as much time with him as you can.

It’s very hard to watch and go through this.
