This is an incredibly difficult conversation that many parents in this community have faced. Consider having an age-appropriate discussion with honesty while emphasizing the love and support that surrounds your family during this time. Many parents find it helpful to involve a counselor or therapist who specializes in helping families navigate these conversations, as they can provide guidance on how to share this news in a way that feels right for your specific situation and your son's emotional needs.
