3 months agohello, my name is April. My father was diagnosed with emphysema currently he is in the hospital in Philadelphia PA we’re hoping for him to be released today. He is in there with ammonia. We are getting all the test done to see if he can get surgery to get the whole long removed so far everything looks good. We have one more test the MRI of his brain, but he had just recently had one of them in Wilkes-Barre PA before he got transferred to Philly, which happened in the same day. It’s just that his Surgeon Dr. Segal did not like the images. He actually said Geisinger in PA is truly a waste of time getting images done there because their machines take horrible pictures. I’m hoping I didn’t bend anybody by that statement. It’s just what the doctor told us. I’m sorry everyone is going through this. Thank you.

Being there for a parent during a hospital stay can feel overwhelming, and it sounds like you're doing everything possible to support him through this difficult time. Having all the necessary tests completed is an important step, and it's encouraging that the results are looking positive so far. Many families find that staying organized with questions for the medical team, bringing comfort items from home, and simply being present can make a meaningful difference during recovery.
