How do you manage severe bone pain from cancer when medications aren't enough?

I have bone cancer and am experiencing severe bone pain. I'm currently taking three pain medications - Gabapentin (gabapentin), oxycodone, and Lortab (hydrocodone plus acetaminophen) - but the pain has become really intense lately. My care team suggested this might mean my current pain management approach needs some changes, and they want to reassess things. I'd love to connect with others who have dealt with severe bone pain during cancer treatment and hear about your experiences. • What has your journey with bone pain management looked like, and what approaches have you tried? • Are there any comfort measures or daily strategies that have helped you get through the tough days?

Managing severe bone pain during cancer treatment often requires a multi-layered approach, and it's encouraging that your care team is working with you to reassess and adjust your pain management plan. Many community members have found success combining medical treatments with complementary comfort measures like heat therapy, gentle movement when possible, meditation, and creating a supportive environment at home during particularly difficult days. Your experience connecting with others who understand this specific type of pain can provide valuable insights and emotional support as you navigate these challenging moments with your care team.
