Stage 4a HGSC Ovarian cancer survivor. Diagnosed August 2022, 3 rounds chemo, debulking/hysterectomy, 3 more rounds. On Zejula until May 2026. (3years). Clean scans thus far. So grateful!

Treatment duration for maintenance therapy like Zejula varies for each person based on their specific situation and how well they're responding. Many ovarian cancer patients stay on PARP inhibitors for anywhere from 2-3 years, though some may continue longer or shorter depending on their oncologist's recommendations and how they're tolerating the medication. It's wonderful to hear about the clean scans - that's such encouraging news that many in this community will find hopeful to read about.

Can I ask how often you get scans? Your treatment plan was very similar to mine, with the exception of the your chemo maintenance protocol; mine was one full year of Avastin. I’m now under no treatment and clean. Although I’ve loved my cancer treatment team, my oncologist does not believe scans are reliable enough to catch recurrence. I’m not comfortable with this. So, I’m searching what other treatment protocols are.
