2 months agoHi, my name is Becky. I was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer. I completed radiation and chemo. Before Christmas, I was told I was in remission. I am an ex-coach and still enjoy sports. My joints are so sore it is difficult to participate. I am waiting anxiously for results of pet scan. Any advice. I so wish I was the same person I was pre-cancer.

2 months agoManaging joint soreness and anxiety while waiting for scan results is incredibly challenging, and these feelings are very common among cancer survivors. Many people find that gentle movement like walking or swimming, stress-reduction techniques, and connecting with others who understand this journey can help with both physical discomfort and emotional well-being during this difficult waiting period.

2 months agoBecky, I'm dealing with similar joint pain and that anxious waiting for scan results too - you're definitely not alone in this struggle. I also find myself missing who I was before cancer and wondering if I'll ever feel like my old self again.

2 months agoI am experiencing joint pain. I was told it was arthritis. I completed both chemotherapy and radiation. I am also having problems with swelling. My feet, legs and abdomen are swollen. I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same.

2 months agoYour body has been through a lot. Give it time. You will feel like yourself again only stronger for going through the toughest sport of all. Listen to your body and rest when needed. Do not rush it.

a month agoMy doctor was very straightforward with me. It will take time and although I am in remission. Some things will never be the same.

19 days agoHey Becky! 2b node+ breast cancer - no evidence of disease. I am 5 months out from active treatments and am struggling athletically. Former college softball player and current college coach. For 2 more months then I plan to career transition. Grieving a pre cancer version of yourself is so real. And you are not alone. I will say I do have some days where I feel so good and able and it’s definitely some of my happier days! Here to talk!
