What are the warning signs of spinal complications from prostate cancer?

I have metastatic prostate cancer that has spread to my bones. I just read about Scott Adams (Dilbert creator) who developed paralysis from spinal involvement as his cancer progressed. This really hit home for me since we have similar diagnoses. His situation shows how quickly things can change when cancer affects areas near the spine. It made me think about the importance of watching for new symptoms and staying on top of monitoring. I'd love to connect with others who have been through similar experiences with advanced prostate cancer. • Have you or someone you know dealt with spinal complications from bone metastases? What was that experience like? • What signs or symptoms made you seek immediate medical attention during your cancer journey? Spinal complications from bone metastases can develop when cancer cells affect the vertebrae or areas near the spinal cord, potentially causing pain, numbness, weakness, or changes in bladder or bowel function. Key warning signs include new or worsening back pain, difficulty walking, tingling or numbness in legs or arms, and any sudden changes in mobility - these symptoms warrant immediate medical attention. The community here has valuable experience with advanced prostate cancer challenges, and connecting with others who understand this journey can provide important insights and support during monitoring and treatment decisions.

I also have entered this type situation. It happened very suddenly and surprisingly. I lost use of my legs while investigating the source of my back pain. To quickly find out that I have prostate cancer that has moved to my spine and these complications many of us are experiencing vegan to take place I don't have much to offer except a fellow journeyer and an interested partym

I was diagnosed with stage 4 over 7 years ago. I found out because of back pain, an orthopedic doctor sent me to PT. Made everything worse. My primary did a blood test and psa was 330s, Gleason 9. Tumor on my ribs actually cracked the rib. Surgery and radiation on my prostate were not an option. Radiated the rib. 7 years of ADT and abiterone and just completed Pluvicto. Not sure what is ahead, but I was told 2 years 7 years ago. They now say 2 years. Life changed but still enjoying every day

Similar to Jim, I was diagnosed 7.5 years ago w stage 4 prostate cancer w over 25 tumors on my bones. 50 rounds of radiation but still hormone sensitive. At 75 I still ride a motorcycle, paddle board most mornings and even went snow skiing last year. I truly believe that my “cancer can kiss my butt” attitude makes a difference.

Read the May 2025 article about him. He decided to be treated with "drugs" with no proven effect on cancer. I have metastatic PC and have been treated with Novartis Lu-177 Lutathera in a medical trial. Novartis has another treatment called Pluvicto that you may have seen on TV during the NFL games. It is for a different small cell cancer than what I have. Talk to your oncologist about your situation. Try to get into the medical trial if your cancer is the same as mine. Don't do what Scott Adams did. I also have another type of prostrate cancer that we are now going after. Wish me luck and your prayers.
