6 months agoHow often do you get at Pet Scan while on hormone treatment for metastatic prostate cancer
Accepted Answer
The frequency of PET scans during hormone treatment can vary based on individual factors like how well the treatment is working and what your oncology team needs to monitor. Many patients find it helpful to discuss the scanning schedule with their care team, as they can explain the reasoning behind the timing and what they're looking for with each scan.

5 months agoA Pet Scan (PMSA) I belitis a one time diagnostic procedure to determine evidence of PC spread although I am not sure if it is repeated….my guess is probably depending on progress and prognosis

5 months agoI’ve had two Psma scans in three years. Likely another coming later this year to make sure cancer is not spreading. Hormone treatment continues. 4 years now

5 months agoI've been on ADT hormone therapy for 5 months Orgovyx. They wanted to add Zytiga, so I finally agreed at 3 months. Testosterone plummeted to <3 quickly. They were satisfied with that! PSA fluxuated at first (believe infection), shot from 11 ^ 38 down to 7 at 2 months. Now finally down to 0.38 @ 4.5 mo. 28 Radiation treatments scheduled July after CT plan simulation. Hopeful with lots of Help from Jesus's Paid Work(1 Pet.2:24)!

5 months agoDoesn't make sense to me.....testosterone blockers essentially make the cancer invisible. Get a 2nd opinion.

5 months agoYes they do and my PSA and Testosterone level is almost 0 I have good doctors and not concerned about their competence. I’m 72 and it’s metastasized into 2 lymph nodes. Nobody gets out of this alive and I’ve made peace with the outcome but I will continue fighting
