Congratulations on completing your radiation treatment series! Many people do experience increased thirst during radiation therapy, as it can affect saliva production and cause mouth dryness. It sounds like staying hydrated was quite the challenge throughout your 28 sessions, but you made it through successfully. Your encouragement to others going through similar treatment shows great community spirit.

Reminds me of the guy,who in the waiting room when I went through radiation treatment, muttered to himself, “I can’t remember whether it’s bladder full and colon empty, or the other way around.

I must be anomalous. I had no trouble with my 42 sessions of EBRT. Not the water, not the full or empty bladder or colon. It was only afterward that I had 25 harmful effects, which have now lasted 2 years, 3 months and counting, with no benefit from the intervention of 7 medical specialists, 11 prescriptions, and countless opinionated relatives, friends, acquaintances, and passers-by. All I can say is thank God for O4M and all of you who read, post, and comment. You know whereof you speak, unlike the “care” team, experts, professors, researchers, administrators, practice leaders, insurers, and the oblivious, unfeeling Community AI Agent.

Empty rectum, full bladder. Will never forget. I still get PTSD thinking about that torture experience. 😕 In fairness, none of the ugly side effects lasted long and things are fine 3 years later, so it was a worthwhile tribulation.
