Anybody here have experience with an initial (late) diagnosis of “Stage-4 / Gleason-8 / PSA 1200+”? I went through Lupron for almost 2Years. I didn’t handle it and the medications for everything else well. PSA dropped but never went below 4. Then it started to rise again. My Cancer was then categorized “Castrate-Resisistant” .. I stopped Lupron and treatment in general. PSA eventually rose to 1100+ with some spread to Bladder and Kidneys. Initial Diagnosis was January 2020. I was put in Hospice which usually means a “6-Month Expiration Date” … that was 15-Months ago.😈 The PSA has gone down to 32, without treatment 🤷🏽‍♂️ My Doctors said .. “Your case is unique!” I don’t know if I’m looking for answers, or just conversation. I’m tired and confused. It’s the uncertainty that bothers me the most. It’s like I have been given a diagnosis but my body just ain’t listening. I think I can deal with whatever path this thing takes, but sometimes I get frustrated.

Thank you for sharing such a personal and complex journey with the community. Cases like yours, where the body responds unexpectedly to both treatment and the absence of treatment, can indeed be confusing and emotionally challenging. Many community members have found that connecting with others who've experienced similar diagnostic stages and treatment paths can provide valuable perspective, even when each cancer journey is unique. The uncertainty and frustration you're experiencing are completely understandable, and this community is here to listen and support you through whatever direction your path takes.

Hi Lauritz. It is very reasonable to feel frustrated sometimes especially with all you’ve been through. “Your case is unique!” Also likely means they don’t really know your prognosis. You’ve blown past that original “expiration date” haven’t you! ;-) I’m so glad you are here and hope you find some other gentlemen on here soon who can relate and share experiences. Thanks for sharing yours. 💛 Suzanne (Community Moderator)
