5 months agoTaking 2 hormone meds, Orgovyx and Erleada. 1 month before radiation treatment. Side effects are just what they said. Fatigue is a little to much, napping everyday! Anyone with me? A friend suggested B-12?
Accepted Answer
Managing hormone medication side effects can be incredibly challenging, especially when dealing with fatigue that affects your daily routine. It's worth discussing any supplement options like B-12 with your oncology team, as they can best advise what might be safe and effective given your specific treatment plan and upcoming radiation.

5 months agoI've been ob Orgovyx 5 months, Zytiga 10 weeks. Radiation mid July. At 3 months Orgo, 1 month Zytiga, something flipped! I stopped feeling so fatigued & muscle atrophy stopped. I've been able to exercise more consistently. Don't get me wrong, it's still not great but manageable. Hope this helps encourage you! We'll get through it!

5 months agoI take Orgovyx. A doctor suggested vitamin D and glucosamine chondroitin. Helps the bones and joints.

5 months agoI just started Orgovyx just over a month ago. Honestly I haven't noticed ANY side effects so far. Hoping that continues... IDK? When do they typically start to hit?

3 months agoI’m on Erleada and Lupron injections also what bothers me the most is the “hot flashes” and pi frequency every -1/2 to 2 hours. Any suggestions? Also, are you on a diet? What do you recommend me please?

3 months agoJonathan, not to make light (too much), but hot surges weren’t terribly bothersome, especially during Minnesota winters. Pee frequency wasn’t noticeable given my age and gradual slide into this condition. However, getting up at night was a pain. Curtailing liquid after 5 PM helped. These problems mostly resolved after Lupron shots finished, though I swear I have an occasional hot surge even now, 4 years after end of treatment. That said, winter’s coming!😊 Considering the alternative, I’d do it all again.

3 months agoI can only speak to what I've done & found during my journey. It seems like far too often Urologists/surgeons do surgery & ROs recommend radiation. I was first diagnosed 10/24 by urologist with "very aggressive prostate cancer spread to lymphs, Gleason 9,8 &7s. Wanted to immediately usher me into hormone shot & radiation asap." 2nd opinion, Gleason 7s, Orgovyx started then Zytiga 10 weeks later. 2nd mri confirmed prostate & lymphs shrunk 65-70%. Radiation VMAT 28 fractions July/August. Last PSA 0.03, originally 11.6. Everything going as planned. Glad I investigated. I found Resistance training helps (Dr. Rob Newton), Moderate Keto Diet (especially cut sugar & starch), some supplements, lymph stretching (Michael Holland), Dr. Geo Prostate Podcast & PCRI.ORG food sources, Positive Attitude has been proven beneficial for all cancer, My #1 is leaning on God & relying on what Jesus did at Post for Our Healing. My Best Tip: Laugh as much as possible & listen to worship music by fav. Artist when you get down (picks me up immediately)!

2 months agoDespite ADT improving overall survival in appropriately selected patients, it is accompanied with a range of adverse effects, including negative alterations to BMD, structure and strength, lean tissue mass and fat mass, which may contribute to the increased risk of osteoporosis, falls, fractures and cardiometabolic-related events observed in this population group. Although various guidelines exist for men with PCa treated with ADT, there is a need to implement and evaluate the growing body of evidence supporting the use of lifestyle interventions to ameliorate and manage the adverse effects of ADT. Clinicians should consider referring suitable men to practitioners within the allied health profession (for example, exercise physiologists and dieticians) to ensure these men receive the greatest quality of evidence-based care. Our proposed recommendations are outlined in Table 4. Future trials are required to assess both the risk and benefits of adhering to these guidelines and only then may these be fully incorporated into standard practice for men treated with ADT.
