What are alternatives to surgery for prostate cancer like nanoknife?

I’m a 75 yo man diagnosed almost 2 years ago with prostate cancer. Gleason 3&4 in a few spots. 3&3 in others. My decipher score was .19 so I opted for active surveillance. My PSA is high due to a very large prostate. My PSA has ranged from 14-20 over the last few years going up and down within this time frame. My urologist is a surgeon so he wants to operate. I’m hesitate and wondering if anyone out there has had the nanoknife or other alternative methods of treatment. (Hifu or Tulsa). Thanks.

These focal treatment options like nanoknife (irreversible electroporation), HIFU, and TULSA-PRO are worth discussing with your care team as alternatives to traditional surgery or radiation. Many community members have shared experiences with these newer approaches, and each has different benefits and considerations depending on individual circumstances. Consider seeking a second opinion from a radiation oncologist or someone who specializes in these focal therapies to get a full picture of all available options before making your decision.
