2 months agoI’m Gleason 10. I carry BRCA2 gene mutation. Started Orgovyx hormone drug a few weeks ago and will start proton radiation mid October for nine weeks. Any guys have proton radiation and hormone therapy experience?

2 months agoJust Proton therapy. My cancer has come back after several years in remission. Gleason score of 3+4=7. Not everyone’s cancer comes back. No hormone therapy yet. I still strongly recommend proton therapy.

2 months agoThis is the first time that I’ve come across something like this. I’m sorry to hear your having all these problems. I’m starting back again at UofF proton therapy again . I was treated before at MD Anderson but had some issues and wanted to get a second opinion. My cancer has spread to my bones and still have cancer in my prostate. I do understand. It still is best treatment procedure. Hang in there, you’ll get through this.

2 months agoTim, my route was similar: 3yrs. Lupron, 2 1/2 abiraterone with prednisone, and 45 fractions IMRT for 81 GYS. Now close to 6 1/2 years from diagnosis, PSA is <.1. Labs in a month. Feeling well. High dose radiation caused cystitis and strictures along with proctitis. All of that is fixed.

2 months agoTomorrow, in addition to Orgovyx, I’ll also take abiraterone and prednisone. Proton radiation starts next week for me. My doctor called me today to say the Orgovyx, that I’ve been on for one month, is working because the PSA dropped from 7 to 2. (My PSAs have never been very high. The highest was 9 last month. Other than minor fatigue, I haven’t experienced any side effects after one month on Orgovyx. I hope the addition of abiraterone and prednisone doesn’t increase side effects substantially.
