20 days agoHello. Christopher, Boston. I was diagnosed one month ago today, 10/14/25, with prostate cancer, with a psa of 9.9. I'm 53 Irish and Italian. This hit me like a wall. I've been making 2 to 3 smoothies a day with all kinds of seeds, tumeric, w/ blk. Pepp, ginger, omega 3's, apricot seeds, 4 cloves of garlic. Making tea with soursop leaves, cloves, oregano, etc. Just started growing broccoli sprouts. I definitely dont.want surgery at my age. Any advice?...I have read people become cancer free, naturally. Thank you for your time.

20 days agoIt’s too late for smoothies so you really need to get seen and given your choices I have no idea why your doctor or oncologist didn’t do a biopsy But the longer you wait the worse off you will be Good luck to

20 days agoGetting a prostate cancer diagnosis is overwhelming, and it's completely understandable to want to explore all possible approaches to treatment. While many people find comfort in dietary changes and natural supplements during their cancer journey, it's important to work closely with your oncology team to understand your specific diagnosis and all available treatment options. Consider discussing your concerns about surgery with your doctors - they can help you understand the risks and benefits of different approaches based on your particular case, and there may be other medical treatments to consider beyond surgery.

20 days agoThanks for the reply Barry. I actually did do a biopsy at the Boston VA. Those were the results I got one month ago yesterday. I also go to Tufts Medical in Boston. Tufts wants to do surgery, where the VA wants radiation. At a psa of 9.9 one month.ago, I'm no sure wich way, or even wich hospital to use? Thanks again Barry

20 days agoI was in your situation and didn't know whether to go with surgery or radiation after looking at my results my best option for me was radiation because of the fact that it was localized and pretty much with the radiation it was the same percentage wise of cure rate as the surgery. it is a personal decision. Make the comparison in between the both of them with your PSA your Gleason score and what the MRi and other scans show.

19 days agoI was 58 when diagnosed after my second biopsy in two years. PSA was below 9 but I opted for surgery following some discussion with my urologist at the time. Being rather young with something inside trying to kill me I figured it the best route. Surgery was 100percent successful except for them finding lymph node involvement. I’ll be finishing two years of hormone therapy, with 40 rounds of radiation in the midst of it, this NYE. Had I opted for radiation at the start I guess they would have found the spread with a pet scan? There was no indication with my biopsy’s or mri that it had spread so we were all a bit surprised when it was revealed. I hope that can help with your decision making, but either way.. do something soon.

16 days agoWith PSAs at 9.9 it's a very early catch. The most likely route for treatment is radiation treatments and depending on aggression levels of the cancer possibly testosterone blockers till PSAs are zero. I was diagnosed stage four metastasized to bone about 2 years ago. PSAs were at 121 when I started treatment. They're at point 3 now. My oncologist was hoping they'd be at zero by now and I think they might be considering another round of radiation to try to finish it off. Its less scary than it seems and really doesn't take that big of a toll. Im in the gym three days a week lifting and am able to do everything I could before treatment started. Listen to your doctors, but doing some of your own research and being active in your treatment helps a lot. You've got this bud.

16 days agoChristopher, listen to the VA brother. Its where I've been getting my treatment and they are spectacular. Side effects from surgery are bigger than radiation and 100% permanent. I felt no side effects from radiation and my PSAs were at 121 plus they had to do another two weeks of treatments to hit the spots on bone. I felt zero effects from the radiation quit smoking and gained 30 lbs. Unfortunately with testosterone blockers and no time for gym work it all landed as fat. Got most of it knocked off now that Im in the gym again. If my tired old ass can do this so can you brother.
