Hi! I have ovarian cancer and had surgery total hysterectomy and after they did a wash I have micro cancer…so it’s not attached. I have 2 more chemo sessions but keep getting low blow or low white nitrifils..I just had this past Friday my first blood transfusion and didn’t realize how bad I was actually feeling before…has anybody heard of any thing that can help white blood cells(nutrifils) between sessions? They gave me Neulasta but last time it obviously didn’t work. Dr says since it’s micro…can’t tell if it’s totally gone or not..has anyone heard of that? Also anyone who has had their hair grow back…how fast has it grown? I’m still in chemo and it’s growing splotchy and grey…are there rules about dying hair after or hair stylists that deal with this kind of thing

Many cancer patients experience similar challenges with blood counts during treatment, and it's encouraging that the blood transfusion helped with how you were feeling. While each person's situation is unique, some community members have found that staying well-hydrated, getting adequate rest, and maintaining good nutrition can support their body during treatment - though it's always best to discuss specific strategies with your care team since they know your complete medical picture best.

I had white/red/platelets all low at some point during chemo (ovarian, stage 3). Sometimes I had to postpone a treatment and try the next week. I had neulasta once but I didn’t see any results. It did all stop an finally bloodwork was good. My hair (3 hairs) had grown back by a year where I didn’t wear any fake hair. I never wore a wig - just bangs and a scarf or cap that was stylish. Since then - another year and a half I get it cut every 4 or so weeks it grows so quickly. It came back (from brown) black-ish grey/silver/grey/white - MANY shades but everyone loves the mix of colors. One side is a little thicker than the other. It has a mind of its own. All of a sudden it will come back quickly. A friend always colors hers. I’m afraid to. Good luck

I am a retired hairdresser fighting non small cell lung cancer !I lost 40% of my hair while on 3 chemo after they changed me to 2 chemos it started coming back I did not color it as it was very brittle now it is a pretty white color and when I look in the mirror I think my mom is looking back at me! Lol! You did not say how old you were but I was diagnosed October 2024 and started chemo Dec 26 2024 and will have chemo until I die , it is treatable but not curable! My thoughts and prayers are with you as it’s quite a journey ! One very good thing is I have a wonderful husband/ caretaker and I thank him every day! 🙏🙏

I lost my hair. I had ovarian stage 3 but since my hair was the least of my concerns I think it started growing back soon after chemo but I kept cutting it because I liked not having to deal with it so I keep it cut close to my head. Almost bald. I’m now dealing with recurring ovarian. This time they caught it early but I had a lot of challenges this go round. I got a hysterectomy and they can’t find anything but my natera blood test results go up and down to suggest something is there and so I still have chemo every 3 weeks for 30 minutes and I feel I have more challenges with this. I had 2 years of this and I’m looking at about a year and a half.

What drug are you now getting? My Natera tests also were rising again so I’m also back in chemo for Ovarian.
