I'm basically doing all this alone I have no family to lean on for support I'm a stage 0 but I still have cancer so my family said I'm being selfish because my dad's wife's mom is stage 3:and 4 she's been doing the chemo pills she is older in her upper 80s she hit it from everybody and didn't want to tell anyone till it was really bad but her testing is coming back very well but I'm told I'm selfish because I'm only a stage zero well I'm scared to death I have major surgery coming up and I'm getting a reduction as well for other issues in the back of my neck I believe it'll relief some of the pain that I deal with on everyday basis from the weight well that's what I wanted to say so I'm scared crap no matter what it is I still have cancer and I have a right to feel the way I do

Cancer at any stage is frightening, and those feelings are completely valid regardless of what anyone else says. Being scared before major surgery while feeling unsupported is incredibly difficult, and this community understands that every cancer journey is personal and deserves compassion. Since loneliness during cancer treatment can be especially challenging, consider scrolling down from the Home Screen of the app to find the Ask Outcomes4Me box to connect with clinical care experts for more personalized support. If feelings become overwhelming, the 988 crisis hotline is always available.

Hi Denise, just wanted to say all will be well. I had surgery (Lumpectomy) on yesterday. I’m feeling well however my initial diagnosis in May had me scared and a little anxiety had started to show it self. I have a very supportive family. I’m sorry you’re going through this alone however it will be alright. Going through this type of diagnosis can be overwhelming but you’re a stage “0” so all will be fine. Do you know what treatment they recommend for you? We can stay in touch and I’ll support you in whatever way I can 🤗

Hi Denise. I had a lumpectomy a year and a half ago. I was a stage 1, my niece a stage 3. Cancer no matter what stage brings anxiety. You will be fine. Take one day at a time. What does your doctor recommend? You are not alone. We are with you, I will support you through this however I can.

I understand I had metastatic breast cancer stage 1, but after biopsy it was found to be very aggressive. As a result I had Chemotherapy and Radiation therapy. I am currently in remission, and anxiety is normal. My faith in God has kept me safely. I will be praying for you. ❤️🙏

Praying for you and sorry you have no family support, that’s very sad to me. But you can do this. I’ve had the lumpectomy and radiation, recovering from the radiation now. I’m so thankful to be where I’m at. Attitude is so important in this journey. God has you covered. Blessings to you.. 🙏🏻✝️🙏🏻

Cancer is cancer. No matter the stage. You still have to go through the treatment to get rid of it. I am a stage 1 and I am in the same situation. My family lives near but not much support. I am 77.

Hi Denise, I'm sorry you're having to deal with insensitive relatives. It's been 5 months since I had my lumpectomy and 3 months for my radiation. Don't use your energy and strength on your relatives. You need that for yourself and surgical healing. It seems as if people are using the pain scale to determine what stage of cancer is more serious. This is your journey, and if you want to travel without your family, do it. You will have well over an abundance of info to try understand your diagnosis and treatment. Take one minute at a time. Only the sympathetic and empathetic will put forth effort to understand and encourage you. I fine

Denise, you are amazing and I will be praying for you. Cancer is cancer and not a competition! So sorry your family feels so. Also reach out to your local Catholic Charity, ( you do not have to be catholic) they will help you find transportation and other services if needed! Take all the prayers and keep reaching out. You are not alone. I was diagnosed with invasive triple positive IDC in left breast, 3 small spots. Prayers and hugs do work.

Hi Denise I am at a stage 1 and had a lumpectomy on September 3rd. I have a great supportive family. Where are you? In some areas there is a HandiVan that costs around $4.00 each way. You can check it out through your cancer center.

Denise, I’m sorry you’re going this, hope being a part of this is helpful and you feel supported. At diagnosis, I was connected to my nurse navigator and social worker who discussed the services available, like Manna for meals and they do have assistance for paying copays and transportation. Please know you’re not completely alone. I’m 16 days bilateral mastectomy, stage 1, er/pr+, her2-, Onco 14. Started Tamoxifen until final pathology is back and I meet with medical oncology. It’s a group none of us wanted to be part of, and glad we’re here for each other.

My doctor removed the cancer and so tissue so I had a half mastectomy and when down from a 38c to possibly a 34 b or c I'm really hurting I'm supposed to have some radiation treatments not to many to kill anything hiding

Hi Marli I'm 5 days post op bilateral mastectomy as well Stage 2 ER/PR+ HER2- waiting for Onco test result. Haven't started any treatments. Are you still getting pretty tired? I haven't had any pain really since the night I came home from surgery except some soreness tightness around my chest area. Glad the sentinel lymphnodes biopsy was negative too.

Hi Chelle, Hi there! I was doing fabulous until I tipped out of the recliner while sleeping 🤦🏻‍♀️ and pulled muscles in my upper arms and pits. Have the pain sensation like when a ponytail is too tight and your scalp hurts. My first fill of expanders was the other day, not painful, just that weird sensation. Not sleeping well, I’m a stomach sleeper. So having to sleep on my back has been difficult. One Sentinel mode has micro metastases, which was shocking given all was removed with the biopsy to one area and the other area was 1.2 mm. Have to see Radiation and Medical Oncology to determine next steps. And will go back to 2nd and 3rd opinions now that final pathology is back. Here’s to healing!

Please don't allow anyone to diminish your diagnosis! 0-4, you still have to process your emotions ect. Find a support group outside of your family. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Denise I urge you to join some support groups, they have been so wonderful for me. BCRC is fabulous and I highly recommend it. Everyone in these groups have been through cancer. They can all relate to what we are going through. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Give it to God! I did and continue to. Bless you. ❤️🙏🏻✝️

I am stage 0 too...considered mastectomy but did lumpectomy furst. Was scare of radiation since I have lung damage on same side due to pnemonia and covid previously...there are still so many decisions...I tried 2 weeks of low dose Tomaxifen and had too many side effects including palpitations. Now told it will take 4 to 6 weeks for tomoxifen to get out of my system...then thinking of a double madtectomy with implants...even though stage 0 they still recommend.all the same treatments so it is still cancer or they would not be recommending éradication and med?
