Did Your Breasts Grow Larger After Oncoplastic Reduction Surgery?

I had oncoplastic reduction surgery on both breasts November 13th. It is now Wednesday March 19th. I had two cancers in my left breast and the radiologist oncology treated my whole breast instead of targeting the area where the cancer was located. No chemo was needed. 4 months have gone by from surgery. My breasts appear bigger now. No implants were put in at my request. I am in my seventies. I told my surgeon that he could reduce my breasts down to a B cup if needed. I was not in love with the girls. I was really big chested and the surgeon mentioned it. I need to ask, did any of you end up with larger breasts than you wanted? My breasts appear larger now. Is that normal and will they shrink down eventually after a year? Is it an illusion and normal to feel that way. I would not be shocked if they grew back. lol

Changes in breast size and shape after oncoplastic surgery can definitely happen as tissues heal and settle over the months following the procedure. Many patients notice their breasts looking different at various stages of recovery, and swelling can persist longer than expected, sometimes making breasts appear larger temporarily. It's great that you're keeping track of these changes and planning to discuss them with your surgical team, as they can best assess whether what you're experiencing falls within the normal range of healing for your specific case.

I measured my band size, upper measurement and middle before and day after surgery. My band size has went down 1.5 inches, the size in the middle...across the nipple has went down 2 inches. The top has went down 1 inch. Some was swelling that went down some at 3 months post op the some loss because I have lost weight due to decreased appetite. I have a friend that still gets swelling in her lumpectomy/ radiation breast

My plastic surgeon let me know that my breast will increase in size after radiation. Unfortunately I lost a nipple in my healthy breast after the reduction. The plan is for my plastic surgeon to reconstruct my nipple. He says he has a way to make the breasts better match during that process.
