3 days agoI have bone cancer and am experiencing severe bone pain. I'm currently taking three pain medications - Gabapentin (gabapentin), oxycodone, and Lortab (hydrocodone plus acetaminophen) - but the pain has become really intense lately. My care team suggested this might mean my current pain management approach needs some changes, and they want to reassess things. I'd love to connect with others who have dealt with severe bone pain during cancer treatment and hear about your experiences. • What has your journey with bone pain management looked like, and what approaches have you tried? • Are there any comfort measures or daily strategies that have helped you get through the tough days?

3 days agoManaging severe bone pain is one of the most challenging aspects of cancer treatment, and it's encouraging that your care team is working with you to reassess your current approach. Many community members have found that combining medical treatments with comfort strategies like heat therapy, gentle positioning changes, relaxation techniques, and creating supportive environments at home can provide additional relief during difficult days. Please continue working closely with your medical team as they explore adjustments to your pain management plan, and consider sharing your experiences here to help others facing similar challenges.

a day agoI don't have bone cancer, I have ovarian cancer which has spread into my entire digestive system, liver and spleen. I have a very large mass emenating from my ovary and tumors throughout my colon. They are handling my pain with hydromorphone 4 mg. I take it every 8 hours, and it seems to do the trick. I have been on hydrocodone for most of my life treating severe, chronic back pain. My pain management doctor for my back compared the codone to a firecracker, and the morohone to dynamite!!! A HUMONGOUS DIFFERENCE! Just thought you'd like to know!
