2 years agoI am struggling with this. I live with my brother and his family. My brother and his wife are both completely unsupportive. Neither understand how I am feeling physically or act like I should just snap out of it. They also blame me for all of my health conditions and don't believe in medical treatment. I am a nurse so I am very pro doctor although I also use alternative treatments. I even tried to get outside help and they don't want strangers in the house. I may have a niece that can help but I am most discouraged about the situation.

Living with family members who don't understand chronic health conditions can feel incredibly isolating, especially when medical expertise and professional knowledge aren't respected in the home environment. Many people in this community have found that connecting with healthcare providers outside the home, exploring community resources like support groups, or having honest conversations with the more understanding family members (like the niece mentioned) can provide essential emotional support during difficult times.

6 months agoSo sorry you are going through this. If your family is not supportive, it makes BC treatment that much harder. You may need to move to get the help you need. I hope your niece can help you get into a better situation and support you. Does your treatment center have a nurse navigator or social worker you can reach out to for support and resources? Hugs and blessings

6 months agoDo you have any type of a social worker in your care team? Or a breast cancer navigator? Even your doctor can possibly steer you toward help. Speak to someone outside your household. There is help available out there. Good luck. ❤️😊

6 months agoSue I was actually able to find a part time caregiver. Is my nephews girlfriend and she just moved in with us not long ago. She is outstanding. I also have found much support in online communities for which I am grateful. Things are much better. I also feel better so I can eat real food again. 😺🥳
