Fear about recurrence is such a common and understandable feeling after treatment - these worries often feel overwhelming even when things are going well medically. Many find it helpful to talk through these anxieties with others who truly understand, whether that's through support groups, counseling, or connecting with fellow survivors who share similar experiences.

Hey Karen, recurrence is always a concern but we can't live our lives concentrating on the negativity. We need to think positively and try the best we can to carry on with our lives. I have lung cancer and I have recently found out that I'm technically in remission. The facts about recurrence are always in the back of my mind but I use distraction strategies to recall the positivity in my journey. I'm sending you strength and positive energy so you can fight the negativity. I wish you well. Take good care.

Hi Karen I had Endometrial Cancer, had hysterectomy, 6 Chemo treatments & 30 radiation treatments. Was in remission for 8 months & it's returned in my Illiac chain. Now on Lenvima pill daily, & Keytruda IV every 3 weeks. Now I feel like I'm just waiting for it to show up somewhere else. Im having a Pet Scan in AM to see if these treatments are working.

Hi Karen! Having been in treatment for 6 years I can really understand your worry. At this point I’ve grown to think of this as the most stressful game of Whack-A-Mole I will ever play! But over time I’ve learned that I just need to take good care of myself and trust God to take care of the rest. Also that worrying doesn’t keep it from growing or spreading. Learning or trying to be positive will make this journey easier for you. Please don’t let worry about what might happen steal the joy of having the life you have. As a final note: my then 22-year-old friend had the same treatment you had. She’s now 26 and thriving!
