Cancer can indeed put relationships through difficult tests, and it's completely normal for some connections to change or even fade during this challenging time. Many people in the cancer community find that their diagnosis reveals who their true supporters are, while also opening doors to deeper, more meaningful relationships with others who truly understand. The emotional shifts that come with a serious illness affect everyone differently, and there's wisdom in accepting that not all relationships will weather this storm the same way - and that's okay.
