I posted here a couple of weeks ago about how good I’ve been feeling and able to except use more. Well I’m still feeling great but was told today I’m going to be starting Zoneta infusions for my bones. Does this treatment make bone and joint pain worse?

It's wonderful that you've been feeling great and able to be more active! Zometa can affect people differently - some experience temporary bone or joint discomfort, while others have minimal side effects. Your healthcare team will monitor how you respond and can help manage any symptoms that might arise, so don't hesitate to share any concerns with them during your treatment.

I get Zometa infusions. The very first one I had flu like symptoms for 2 full days but no side effects at all for every one after. It’s only like a 15 minute infusion too. You should be fine! Hugs.

I just had my 5th infusion out of 6. I got those flu like symptoms for the first 3. When I mentioned to my oncologist, he suggested taking an Allegra the morning of the infusion and then for 2-4 days after. Also, he slowed down the infusion from 15 mins to 60mins. These tweaks worked like a charm for me! I recommend mentioning to your oncologist for tips or tricks to alleviate symptoms.

I’m on Zometa infusions every 12 weeks. The first one was rough. Each one since the’ve given me fluids with the infusion and no issues I also get fulvestrant shots monthly and on the same day as my infusion.
