What to expect as stage 4 kidney cancer progresses?

I’m 57 years old and had a renal carcinoma on my right kidney in 2018 just the mass was removed. Now I have what the doctors are telling me is I have a renal carcinoma that has turned into stage 4 metastatic cancer in my liver and lymph nodes. The doctors are treating me with Keytruda immunotherapy every three weeks. The doctors first told me that I had 5 years to live and now two years to live. I guess my question is what to expect when my health begins to deteriorate? Has anyone out there been or are going through this? I have worked hard all of my life and now this. I’m on social security disability and they tell me I have to be on disability for two years/24 months before I’m eligible for Medicare. I don’t understand why this is happening and is there anyway of fighting for Medicare benefits before I parish and have an everlasting life?

I’ve suffer with joint pains mainly my shoulders and I’m losing muscle mass in my legs and arms. I’m also cold all of the time unless I take Gabapentin and morphine or hydroccap for pain. I’m also a type 2 diabetic and take Ozempic and Glyburide for the diabetes. Would I benefit from lifting weights again like I was at the age of 33 or will that hurt my treatments and cancers. Do I have two-five years or not? After every PET Scan they tell me they can hardly see anything on the thyroid and the cancers seem to be getting smaller but nothing to brag about. Sorry I forgot to mention the diabetes. Where do I find a proper diet, the doctor hasn’t mentioned a special diet?

This is such a challenging journey, and the questions about what to expect as cancer progresses are completely understandable. Many community members have shared similar concerns about symptoms, energy levels, and quality of life changes over time. Regarding Medicare eligibility, there may be options to explore - consider reaching out to a patient advocate or social worker at the treatment center who can help navigate potential exceptions or alternative support programs during this difficult time.

Yes, you should be able to get what's referred to as emergency medical coverage. They should be able to help you at the hospital. Have to spoken to a social worker? Just have your diagnosis documentation handy. Or ask your oncologist to help with an appointment with the hospital social worker. There is coverage out there for you. Hang in there. Feel free to message back if you'd like, I am in California and at least know about some of the in and outs of getting coverage here.

I would also ask them about a drug called Lenvima. I am taking keytruda with lenvima, and I am told lenvima helps accelerate the aggressiveness of keytuda.

Hello, I have been taking Fenbenzadole fasting 12 tio 18 hours a day and everything known to man that’s supposed to kill cancer. I am on Kendra and another drug. I’ve had three rounds or six times. My CT scans are showing everything is better. They can’t even find it. My doctors want to remove my kidney and ureter. I will be 86 years old and I’m afraid of surgery. I may just take my chances without the surgery. I do think the fasting and other things I’m doing or working
