a month agoFound mass next to heart behind lungs pushing on esophagus had 3 chemos and 30 radiation treatments been 3 weeks since eating and barely drinking anything esophagus feels like it’s on fire trying to eat or drink feels like someone putting a fist thru a straw in my throat any ideas?

Severe throat pain and swallowing difficulties are common side effects that many people experience after radiation to the chest area, though that doesn't make it any easier to endure. Please reach out to your oncology team right away if you haven't already - they may be able to prescribe medications for pain relief, suggest nutritional support options, or recommend other strategies to help you get through this challenging recovery period.

20 days agoI had the same problem,I was told to do room temperature liguids and no carbonation.Food had to be almost liguids,no foods needing a lot of digestion.It really helped me. I also used the packets for water called IV hydration.It really made a difference. I hope you start feeling better.
