Is SCLC treatment worth it if it's likely to come back?

I have SCLC. I was just diagnosed a couple weeks ago. I’ve taken 3 rounds of chemo and will start radiation therapy in a couple weeks.. The Dr said I am not a candidate for surgery because my lungs are so bad and I wouldn’t survive the surgery.. He did a biopsy and said it was a small cancer on my left lung. He said there was no evidence of any cancer in my lymph nodes. I’m wondering if all this is worth it? He said it would probably come back! From what I’ve read it’s a promise that it will come back! So I go through all this and it just keeps coming back? What’s the point? He said he was going to do 15 rounds of radiation and then see about immunotherapy? It feels like they are just practicing on us? Throwing stuff at a wall and see what sticks? It feels like they have no idea what they’re doing? Am I wrong? I’m 72. Have had multiple back surgeries. Hip and knee replacement on my right side and now need it on the left! My left hip hurts so bad! From what I’ve read about this disease it’s terminal? I just don’t know what to do or where to turn?

Is anyone else 70+ choosing no treatment for metastatic lung cancer?

I am 70yrs old, small cell lung cancer with mets to ribs. I made the choice to not take any treatment. Quality of life. I too old. I really have no purpose anymore. Without purpose I don't see why I should go on chemo and immune therapy when I know my body couldn't handle them. Anyone else that is my age?

I was diagnost with mesothelioma it was at stage 4 in August of 2023 I started immunotherapy with yekovo and opdivo it was working at first but now I have had some tumors show up and have had radiation treatments. I have lung that metastasised to my brain. i have more scans on nov3. Wish me luck. I thought I was doing well with the chemotherapy my appetite has been ok. I lost my voice though and that has gotten me depressed I am getting an AAC device to help me talk next Tuesday.
