Did anyone else get extremely sick from blood count booster shots during cancer treatment?

I have SCLC diagnosed in November. Stage 2. I’ve taken 16 rounds of chemo and radiation. I’m supposed to start immunotherapy with chemotherapy in a couple of weeks. I would have started sooner but I’m having trouble keeping my blood counts up? So the Dr ordered a shot to help bring them up? He said I might have flu symptoms? I got so sick I thought I might die? I stayed in bed for 4 days straight! I don’t know when I’ve been sicker? I wasn’t even this sick when I got Covid? I really thought about going to the ER? Has anyone else had one of these shots?

How do you cope with waiting for PET scan results after SCLC diagnosis?

Hi. My name is Linda. I was diagnosed on January 29th with SCLC. Just had my pet scan on Thursday. The wait is so very hard. I am waiting for the results to determine whether or not I am going to get or even able to get treatment. I am 65 and not in the best of health. I am trying to be strong, but my stress levels are through the roof. I should have all my answers on Monday. Until then, all I can do is pray 🙏. Thanks for listening

How to manage severe nausea after cancer treatment and pneumonitis?

I’m 8 months past my last infusion and I have pneumonitis. I’m being treated with prednisone. My major problem is nausea. I can’t get past it since I started treatment for my Stage 2 cancer. I’m so sick there are days I can’t get out of bed. Has anyone had this and does anyone have any suggestions to help me.

Has anyone experienced incontinence problems during cancer treatment?

Has anyone especially women had problems with incontinence since starting treatment? I’ve never had that problem before but now I do!

What to expect with small cell lung cancer that has spread?

My name is Wendy and my fiance has small cell lung cancer with metastasis to brain n adrenals.

I’m 62 I was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell lung cancer about 2 weeks ago. The oncologist said without treatment I have 6 months and with treatment a year and a half. I really have no idea about any of this. I just had a 2 nd pet ct scan done and it’s worse than the one I did 2 months ago and includes a rib now. I have spreading to the pleura but no signs of any more fluid now. I have pain in my right side by ribs and back. I guess the plan is chemo every 3 weeks for 4 1/2 months then every 3 weeks for the rest of my life. I’m struggling with either going through with this treatment or just taking off in a camper and seeing things I’ve never seen before. I’m single and don’t have anyone counting on me for anything. What would you do?

How to manage severe throat pain and swallowing issues after chemo and radiation?

Found mass next to heart behind lungs pushing on esophagus had 3 chemos and 30 radiation treatments been 3 weeks since eating and barely drinking anything esophagus feels like it’s on fire trying to eat or drink feels like someone putting a fist thru a straw in my throat any ideas?

Anyone else here with stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer?

I have stage 4 non small cell lung cancer ! Diagnosed in October 2024 I will be on chemo until it quits working. I see a lot of post talking about small cell lung cancer but not non small cell lung cancer Does anyone on here have non small cell lung cancer?

Well had Mri and ultrasound elastography on liver still waiting on results.

Is SCLC treatment worth it if it's likely to come back?

I have SCLC. I was just diagnosed a couple weeks ago. I’ve taken 3 rounds of chemo and will start radiation therapy in a couple weeks.. The Dr said I am not a candidate for surgery because my lungs are so bad and I wouldn’t survive the surgery.. He did a biopsy and said it was a small cancer on my left lung. He said there was no evidence of any cancer in my lymph nodes. I’m wondering if all this is worth it? He said it would probably come back! From what I’ve read it’s a promise that it will come back! So I go through all this and it just keeps coming back? What’s the point? He said he was going to do 15 rounds of radiation and then see about immunotherapy? It feels like they are just practicing on us? Throwing stuff at a wall and see what sticks? It feels like they have no idea what they’re doing? Am I wrong? I’m 72. Have had multiple back surgeries. Hip and knee replacement on my right side and now need it on the left! My left hip hurts so bad! From what I’ve read about this disease it’s terminal? I just don’t know what to do or where to turn?
