When cancer is described as treatable but not curable, it typically means that while treatments can help control the disease, slow its progression, and manage symptoms, they cannot completely eliminate the cancer from the body. Many people with stage 4 NSCLC live meaningful lives for extended periods with ongoing treatment, especially with targeted therapies that can be particularly effective for specific mutations.
