Many patients in the small cell lung cancer community have experience with immunotherapy following chemo and radiation, and side effects can vary significantly from person to person. Connecting with others who have walked this path can provide valuable insights about what to expect and how to manage any challenges that may arise.

Hi Joan I had immunotherapy once a month for 1 year. My side effects are fatigue and some muscle pain while walking, which I do with my dog daily. I sit when I have to but continue my daily exercise. Everyone is different, and hopefully, your symptoms are mild. Good luck!

I have immunotherapy for two years once a month and that I mean a therapy medicine is to keep the cancer from regrowing as the way I understand it and every person that has cancer is different so if I got sick off, immunotherapy doesn’t mean you’re gonna I just get a headache during the thing during the treatment and I don’t get headaches but for me I want to be around for a while. I’m only 64 so I’ll do whatever I gotta do. I’m just praying. I don’t have to do no more chemo cause that kicked my butt.

Yes. I’ve been on Imfinzi for 14 months now. I had LS SCLC and currently show clean scans. I was diagnosed in October of 2024. The effects of Imfinzi were not nearly as bad as the chemo and radiation I went through. Mostly fatigued and had some itching for a bit.

I guess I was one of the lucky few? I’m taking chemo and going to start immunotherapy in a week or so? I’ve had 15 rounds of radiation. I had some nausea and vomiting for the first few days after treatment nothing dramatic or major! Mostly just mild nausea! But the fatigue is kicking my butt! I’m just so tired! I’m hoping that the immunotherapy won’t be any worse than this!

I had one immunotherapy session. It affected my liver and my thyroid. I stopped. I’m more concerned about my organs.
