24 days agoI am 70yrs old, small cell lung cancer with mets to ribs. I made the choice to not take any treatment. Quality of life. I too old. I really have no purpose anymore. Without purpose I don't see why I should go on chemo and immune therapy when I know my body couldn't handle them. Anyone else that is my age?

23 days agoI'm 69 young, this is my 2nd time with lung cancer. Had lung cancer 13 years ago and beat it! I continued to work then 1 St. Lung cancer with chemo and radiation I worked construction it wasn't easy but I think it helped mentally. So cancer free for 13 years then got it again, this one has been a struggle immune therapy then full on chemo, three weeks out of four are a real struggle this time, but I'm doing it for me but also my family I still have so much to give. It's been hard this time company I worked for for 12 years laided me off, no income except SSI. My youngest son and his family is going to move in with my wife and I so we don't lose our home. Yes sir you still have a lot to live for " family" yourself. Look at me just rambling on,

16 days agoI am 81 and have recently been diagnosed with small cell lung. At my age I still feel I have much to live for and am in treatment with chemo and immunotherapy. I have 4 grand daughters and a grand son all over 21. They’re just really beginning their lives and I want to live to see where they go. They are my purpose as is my wife of 40 years. I still believe I have a good ten years left since my mind is still sharp and searching and except for the cancer am very healthy. There are still places I want to go and people with whom I want to spend time. I will fight this disease with all my strength and, with the constant scientific advances, believe I will win this battle with a smile on my face and my heart filled with laughter. If only our govt will stop fighting the science because of their own fears and greed.

15 days agoBooby what kind of CA do you have? Can't your doctors help you with the pain? I start radiation next week for the tumor in my lung. Im only doing that to help me breathe. But it won't help the CA in my ribs. Where are you getting the radiation? You're young, I think your body can handle more then me. Write me back and I'm so sorry you are going through so much Wendy

15 days agoSmall cell lung cancer in my lungs had half my left lung cut out in 2014 spread to my stomach 2019. They saw it and thought it was my spleen in 2017 and just watched me thinking they could cut out the spleen, but it was actually behind the spleen, the size of a baseball Cut that out. It was attached to my diaphragm replaced that with a mesh then it spread to my left adrenal gland had that radiated with 10 sessions totally shrunk it down to 2.8 from five point something and then a couple months later had to scan. It was totally gone not a scar so I started hitting the lungs. I have six nodules on the right and three left in the Half of the left. Bottom lung a new one plus the three on the left now some on the right to got a little smaller so I’m a little bigger one is unmeasurable so it was like 50-50 not good not bad to me. It’s not good because it’s still spreadingand growing, but at least it’s in the original area where I first started they took out that left along with two lymph nodes.

5 days agoI have small cell lung cancer since 2014 but it has spread in other places and back in both lungs. I had half the long taken out in 2014. I have six nodules and the right and 3+ one new one on the left one that’s half one there to this day spread to my stomach my left adrenal gland. I took out my diaphragm. I have a brain tumor in my particular gland. I do not want to do chemotherapy with immunotherapy. I’ll do the immunotherapy, but they won’t do that unless I did chemo and my dad died in my arms. He tried chemo for a week and died a month and a half later same thing lung cancer spread all over I promised myself I would never do chemo. They said they came along way. All they wanna do is biopsies biopsies and biopsies I’m sick of that. I did a lot of radiation though and I’m doing some now. I have done 10 treatments for my left lung 10 treatments for my right lung 10 treatments for the left adrenal gland and now I’m doing another 10 treatments with the new nodule is on my left lung. I don’t know if I could still be doing it. It’s catching up with me. It’s all bad. Just try to stay away from all kind of smoke eat as best as you can, you could still have your dessert and your cake and eat it too enjoy your life. I’m 64 years old. My dad died at 67. I always feel I have a good connection when I speak to somebody that has cancer Cause People that don’t have it have no idea they don’t understand but if you have cancer, you know what I’m talking about we have a connection. I always tell everybody they could call me. My name is Bobby and my number is 845-578-0044. If you ever call me or leave a message if I don’t answer right away just leave your name numberand say where we connected from from this chat room and that you have cancer that’s all you really have to say have a blessed day. Have a beautiful day stay strong and cherish the days that we are here.

5 days agoI’m doing radiation treatment with Ariel and Gus Lederman in Manhattan 38th St. and Broadway Radiosurgery they call it. He’s the first one that brought it here in 1975 but he told me he couldn’t help me cause I already had a cut out and it spread and he could just slow it down so that’s all they’re doing for me trying to slow it down a little bitat this point there’s nothing else they could do. The lung is the hardest area to treat. I believe with the cancer, especially for radiation.

5 days agoMy pain is not coming from the cancer. I’m not too sure but they sent me for 10 biopsies down my esophagus and that was last year and then a doctor gave me something for my hip pain and back pain. It was a anti-inflammatory called Mobic and it made me bleed for like two months it burnt my whole stomach or where all the biopsies were taken and I’ve been on PPI ever since It’s horrible unbelievable what I’m going through. I never had any pain with my cancer now I’m not too sure because I have so much going on. I have no idea they didn’t want me to go back to do the radiation unless I was in no pain, but I didn’t wanna say that. I just said I was in no pain just to get the treatment cause they ask you every time you do a session do you feel any pain? I just tell him no please call me if you like 845-578-0044 Wendy OK my name is Bobby
