Im 3 and 1/2 weeks from a single mastectomy. My skin is so sore to touch. Wearing a bra is almost impossible. Is this normal?

Post-surgery skin sensitivity is a common experience many patients face during recovery, and it's completely understandable to have concerns about what feels normal. Healing tissues can be tender for several weeks, but connecting with your surgical team can provide reassurance and guidance specific to your recovery timeline.

My skin was sore and itchy! At times the bra did hurt and I decided to buy 4 supporting bras a size bigger than my regular size and that helped a lot. It will get better, remember that you body has gone through surgery and is trying to heal. Another thing that I did was to drink a lot of water to hydrate my body and as soon as my doctor gave me the ok, I started to walk. That was great for me! Good luck, you will overcome this. I also had an unilateral mastectomy, left breast with immediate reconstruction.
